How do I set up my computer to use CoopMetrics?
(for Excel 2003/XP)
(for Excel 2007/2010)
In order to set up your computer to use the CoopMetrics tools, please follow these steps. These steps will only need to be performed the first time you access our website or use our tools on a particular computer.
System Requirements
- Operating System: You will need either Windows XP, Vista or 7 to connect to the data warehouse.
- Click here for instructions on using the CompanyCube with a Mac.

- You will need Excel XP (sometimes called Excel 2002), 2003, 2007, or 2010.
- We've tested the website with Firefox and Internet explorer (7+), but others will probably work fine
- We recommend that you use a high speed connection, but a dial up connection will work.
Set Up Steps
- USING EXCEL VERSION 2007 or 2010? You may be able to skip these steps. Try this first:
- Open the CompanyCube using your current version of Excel.
- If prompted, answer "Yes" to:
- "Enable macros?"
- "Enable external connections?"
- "Install ASOLEDB?"
- For most copies of Excel, this should be all that is necessary to get your CompanyCube up and running.
If you are NOT using Excel 2007 or 2010, OR if these steps did NOT work, please follow these additional steps:
- Update Windows and Office: Please install the current updates for Windows followed by the update for Office. Keeping the updates current is a good practice because the updates help protect your computer from hackers as well as correct problems Microsoft has found in its software. This service is provided free from Microsoft.
- Properly Set Macro Security
- Install ASOLEDB 10 (a program from Microsoft Analysis Services that allows you to run the tools) **PLEASE NOTE: If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows (Not sure? Click here to figure it out), you will need to use this link to download ASOLEDB.
